Officially opened in June 2008, the new Tauranga Adventist School is an award-winning facility which replaced the former school originally built in 1974. The Tauranga Adventist School offers affordable quality Christian education for children aged 5 years through to 13 and forms part of a network of schools owned and operated worldwide by the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
The School, which integrated into the state system in 1993, is staffed by committed Christian teachers who reflect Christ-centred values to the children entrusted to their care and is open to any family who can support the aims and objectives of the School.
Children are encouraged to reach their fullest potential in each area of personal development including spiritual, academic, social and physical. Having a realistic pupil-teacher ratio, the five multi-grade classrooms promote a family-type atmosphere where each child is made to feel a valued and special member of the class and school.
The Tauranga Adventist School is governed by a board of trustees and is under the auspices of the New-Zealand Seventh-day Adventist Schools’ Association. The School operates in harmony with state requirements and beliefs, values and lifestyle of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
The school occupies a 2.0790-hectare site. Its legal description is: Pt Lot 2 DPS 71177 (CT 210872).
The school comprises of four main classrooms and one smaller classroom, a central Hub for
worships and assemblies, an administration area, a learning support room, and staff room. The building is of a concrete block and weatherboard construction with an iron roof.
